In 2009, we launched an internal training program that offers over 115 different classes to associates through various learning models, including:
Development Dimensions International (DDI): a renowned leadership development program designed to develop interpersonal and leadership skills through behavior modeling and practice.
HRDQ: A leading source of employee training materials and courses for skill-building, performance improvement, collaborative competency, diversity, and awareness.
Internally designed programs
Internally-designed Programs: Much of our training is developed in-house at HLNA to specifically address the needs of our associates. We have created training modules in relationships, leadership, strategic thinking, decision making, mentoring, and more.
Partnership programs: We work with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers and Honda to provide computer skills training and quality assurance classes.

New Challenge (NC) Circles
As a way to promote and practice the Honda philosophy of Kaizen (“continuous improvement”), associates form teams within their work area to identify potential improvements. These are called New Challenge (or NC) Circles. NC Circles focus on areas such as value in work activities, waste, material handling, operating procedures, error detection, just-in-time principles, and more.
NC Circles follow Honda’s 6-step process to solve these Kaizen problems and showcase their skills in competition. HLNA’s operating companies hold an internal competition every year—the winning team advances to an HLI North America-Europe regional for a chance to compete at the HLI global conference.
HLNA travels location to location to support NC Circles with hands-on training and assistance around our region as well as across North America and Europe.
